UKGC & Licensing
ZebraJackpot focuses on the UK market and only lists online casinos that hold a valid licence from the
UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). We are a comparison site, not a casino or operator, but we still care
a lot about how your gameplay is regulated.
This page explains what the UKGC does, why licensing matters, and what you can check yourself before signing up with
any operator.
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC)
The UKGC is the official regulator for gambling in Great Britain. It sets rules for how licensed casinos must
operate, including:
- Player verification (age checks and identity checks).
- Fair game standards and independent testing.
- Requirements around advertising and promotions.
- Handling complaints and serious player protection issues.
If a casino loses its licence or fails to meet the UKGC’s rules, it can be fined, restricted or removed from the
market.
How ZebraJackpot uses licence data
Before featuring a casino on ZebraJackpot, we look for clear evidence that it is allowed to operate in the UK. That
typically means:
- A visible UKGC licence number in the footer or “About/Terms” pages.
- A working link to the UKGC licence register entry.
- UK player terms, including references to UK-specific rules.
Our listings are not official verification. Operators can change status, so you should always confirm details
yourself.
Checking a licence yourself
It only takes a minute to double-check any brand you are considering. As a UK player you can:
Search the UKGC public register
Compare the domain and company name
Confirm that remote casino is covered
Most casinos link directly to their UKGC entry in the footer. If they do not, you can manually search by company name
or licence number on the regulator’s site.
What ZebraJackpot doesn’t do
Even though we care about licensing, ZebraJackpot does not:
- Issue gambling licences or make legal approvals.
- Handle complaints on behalf of a casino.
- Guarantee that a specific operator will remain licensed and compliant.
If you have a serious concern with a casino, start with its customer support and official complaints process. If the
issue isn’t resolved, you may be able to escalate to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider or the UKGC,
depending on the situation.
Regulation and safer gambling
Strong regulation and safer-gambling tools work together. Licensed operators must offer options such as deposit limits,
reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion. Details vary between brands, but these tools are an important part of
staying in control.
